Hello! This is Leo, an instructor at Vonfreedive.
The season is now full-blown autumn, and around this time, memories of diving in deep, clear waters often come to mind. Recently, I've been reminiscing about the seas of Jeju from three years ago. Today, I’d like to share a story from a recent training session at Deep Station. This session focused on refining no-fins diving techniques, bringing both progress and learning. Let's dive into the experience together!

Training Objectives and Practice
The main focus of this training session was no-fins diving, particularly DNF (Dynamic No Fins) and CNF (Constant Weight No Fins). No-fins diving requires precise control of buoyancy and efficient movement, which means paying close attention to even the smallest of body movements.
During CNF practice, we concentrated on maintaining balance while descending and controlling our breathing.

On the other hand, DNF training emphasized conserving energy while maximizing propulsion underwater. Thanks to my recent consistent pool training, I saw noticeable improvement in my arm strokes, allowing me to cover more distance with less energy. However, I realized my kicking technique still needs more work, and I plan to continue strengthening it.

Student Training Session
This session wasn’t just my own training; I also conducted a class with my students. They began by practicing the duck dive technique, which helps them enter the water smoothly from the surface. While it’s one of the most basic freediving skills, mastering it allows for a safer and more stable descent.

Next, we worked on relaxation through FIM (Free Immersion) dives, aiming to reach a depth of 25 meters while staying calm and composed.

We also practiced DYNB (Dynamic Bi-fins), focusing on balance and efficient movements underwater. Through these exercises, I could see the students gradually improving their control and balance in the water.

Wrapping Up
After the training session, we enjoyed some free diving time, allowing us to fully embrace the tranquility of being underwater. Diving together with the students was a great reminder of the joy and unique experience diving brings.
We concluded the session with some photo time, capturing memorable poses and candid moments underwater.
This training session at Deep Station was incredibly rewarding for both the students and me. Personally, I noticed significant progress in my DNF arm strokes, but I realized there’s room to improve my kicking technique. The students also showed growth by mastering the fundamentals and gaining confidence in their skills.
I plan to continue with no-fins training, aiming for even greater progress in diving. I look forward to the next session, hoping for more achievements and stories to share from beneath the surface. Thank you!
